Fringe Festival and Open Day

Presented by the Friends of Dereham Memorial Hall

Item one of our ambitions for 2017 and every year is to bring into the Hall more and more local people to share more and more events and a wider and wider range of activity. To this end we are talking to other community interest groups to join us in a day long ‘Fringe Festival’. Local performers throughout the day and evening, individual events of festival length, street performers and food, music, theatre, dance, singing, circus, comedy, with local community groups showcasing their work, are all falling into place.

Saturday 9th September is the Dereham Fringe Festival, taking place throughout the day and featuring mainly free showcase performances from local entertainment groups, as well as stands and stalls from community organisations, plus buskers, street performances, novelties and who knows what.

Comedy Club Grand Finalé

In the evening, starting at 7.00pm, the doors, the bar, the hotfood vendors and the Hall building will re-open for live top-class stand up comedy from Red Card Comedy Club, featuring three fabulous members of the comedy scene, compered by the multi-award winning explorer, presenter, author and comedian TIM FITZHIGHAM. He’ll introduce master of delightfully daft but carefully crafted, perfectly timed one-liners, MARK SIMMONS, who is charmingly goofy and a great favourite at Edinburgh Fringe Festival; diminuitive former Canadian TANYALEE DAVIS, who you’ll have seen on The Last Leg, Live at the Apollo and The John Bishop Show, and who brings us her own unique perspective and somewhat racy brand of comedy, and headline act top comedian PETE FIRMIN, who combines magic and comedy to become one of the most in demand magicians working on British TV. Pete’s credits include Monkey Magic, Dirty Tricks and Darren Brown’s 3D Magic Spectacular, as well as 10 consecutive seasons at the Edinburgh Fringe and 6 solo UK tours.

Tickets are only £13 each
